The practical purpose
A service date becomes more useful when it includes mileage, provider, completed work and original evidence. Repeated entries form a history that can be understood later.

Separate done from suggested
Review the workshop, date, total, odometer and completed work. Approve suggested work separately, then mark recommendations done or reopen them.
Keep the next date sensible
The normal starting suggestion is 12 calendar months after the confirmed service date. Edit it to the vehicle’s schedule; an older record must not replace a newer reminder.

Evidence and limits
